I Would Rather Eat Dirt

Did you ever want to just eat dirt? A friend of mine brought this expression to my attention over the weekend.  Could eating dirt be the better alternative? She elaborated on an excursion her husband when on. They travel into the city, to see a loved one, and relatives. Now I am not going into detail because it could start a war. This ordeal involved sitting in traffic for more than four hours. Hence, "I would rather eat dirt" I guess it's all how you look at it. Do you really love this certain person or persons? Do they mean the world to you?  I think, I too would eat dirt in this situation.

Now let us look at this scenario. You again go to the city. But this time you are going to see the greatest show that mankind has created. But! you need to sit in that same traffic. Would you rather eat dirt, well maybe not. Because you really want to see this special show and It's not the same old going over to see relatives. So eating dirt? it's out of the question.

So we go through life with all kinds of situations that we need to deal with. Some are good and some are bad. I guess we need to look at all the circumstances. Good, bad, ugly whatever they may be. We need to endure it all. But all, in all, sometimes we would be better off eating dirt.

So the next time you are asked to visit your loved ones, remember. I would rather eat dirt. Only Kidding. :)

Little thoughts and pieces of my crazy brain.

MARTHA STEWART MOM

Being raised by a Martha Stewart Mom

Being raised in a great family, there was one added bonus. It’s having a mom that did everything to the Nines. For those of you that don’t know what is the meaning of the nines?  Well, it’s doing things over and above average, being done to perfection.

My mom lives each day with a special twist in everything she does. Let me fill you in on some of what I mean. In our home, there wasn’t just a set table. Setting the table meant the proper amount of silverware per person, the right water glass, and the right amount of salt and pepper shakers. Butter in the ramekins and not butter dishes. There is a rule of thumb that for every four persons you need one set of shakers. People always ask me, “why do you know all of this stuff” well my Martha Stewart Mom taught me well. each part of the house is laid out to be and looks like a showpiece. Let me tell you, it looks awesome.

Today I can say that with all I have learned from my mom I can eat with the president, or sit at a table of dignitaries.  All of the other things learned. Like how to put the proper amount of flowers in a vase. Always being able to pick the right color palette for a room and having that proper table setting. The teaching from a mom is priceless and the list is endless. Knowing all of these things are an asset to my life and now my family.

Mom is a fantastic person with the greatest heart. Learning all of this is so precious never to be forgotten. These are learned qualities that can be passed down from generation to generation. Being able to go into the world well equipped and prepared. Mom is still is doing all things to the nines at eighty-plus years. She loves life and lives it fully.

I wish everyone could have a Martha Stewart Mom.

Have Love, Enjoy Life, and God Bless.

Puking on Paper

Writing helps me let out my innermost feelings. To write is to dream on paper. So where do I come up with the title Puking on Paper? Well, one day I was asked how do I come up with all the stories I write. That was a very good question. It starts with a head rush of ideas. Millions of ideas bombard my thought process. Then the process needs to be organized. So be,  Puking on Paper. I put all the ideas on paper. Then after looking at all the ideas and then gathering the thoughts, I put all of those thoughts into order. Working paragraph after paragraph brings to life a great story.

So some advice for all you future writers. Keep a journal. Use an app on your phone to take notes when you have an idea. If you really think about what writing is, it's Puking on Paper.

Crazy thoughts and ideas in my mind.

Have Love, Enjoy Life, and God Bless.
